Refunds & Cancellations

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Clear operational terms protect both the traveller and the travel business.

HomeCancellation & Refund Policy
This policy is not a substitute for independent legal advice and should be reviewed by qualified counsel, and matched against our live payment gateway and supplier contracts, before launch.

How refunds work

Most bookings involve two separate charges: a Caricay service fee for planning, sourcing and managing the booking, and the supplier's own charge for the flight, hotel, cruise, tour or car rental. Refund eligibility for the supplier portion always follows that supplier's own cancellation policy, which is shown to you before you pay wherever possible.

Cancellation timelines

Requests to cancel or change a booking must be submitted in writing to caricayglobaltravelandtour@gmail.com or through the Traveller Portal. The amount refundable depends on how far in advance of travel the request is made and the specific supplier's rules; many suppliers apply increasing cancellation charges closer to the travel date, and some fares, rooms or cabins are non-refundable from the time of booking.

Non-refundable items

Caricay's own service fee, consultation fees, and any item explicitly marked non-refundable at the time of booking are not refunded except where required by law or where Caricay itself is unable to deliver the service.

Partial refunds

Where only part of a booking is cancelled (for example, one traveller out of a group, or one night of a multi-night stay), any refund is calculated on the cancelled portion only, net of applicable supplier cancellation charges.

Supplier-initiated cancellations

If an airline, hotel, cruise line or other supplier cancels or significantly changes a confirmed booking, Caricay will pass on the supplier's own remedy (rebooking, credit or refund) as offered by that supplier, and will assist with the claim on your behalf.

How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through our payment gateway. Refunds are only marked complete once the gateway confirms the funds have actually been returned; an internal status change alone is never treated as proof that a refund has been paid. Processing times depend on your card issuer or bank and are typically 5–10 business days after the gateway confirms the refund.

Failed or delayed refunds

If a refund fails or is delayed at the gateway, Caricay will retry the refund and keep you informed. If a refund cannot be completed through the original payment method, we will contact you to arrange an alternative.

How to request a refund

Include your booking reference, the reason for cancellation, and your preferred contact method when you write to us. We aim to confirm the outcome of a refund review within 5 business days.
